Another astounding Hoosier duo, this time in the form of the rutabaga from South Bend, Indiana. An original take on Indie Rock, with a genuine tone, their most recent album, “brother the lights don’t work” takes the fight to you. Sit down and indulge yourself with the entire album. “come back big brother”, “turn on the summer”, and “buried in the snow” as well as the rest of the songs, carry an impenetrable, nostalgic, gloom. Maybe the genre could be emo, considering almost all the bandcamp reviews talk about crying. I didn’t cry, but I’m just a desensitized old bastard. A truly solid record. I’m Proud they are Hoosiers.
