Album Review – Lore – Elder

By Luke Nigh

Full of sound and fury, and signifying awesome. Reminiscent of early Mastodon, Elder delivers the heavy-hitting stoner prog made famous by the masters of progressive sludge metal. Grabbing you by the brain and refusing to let go for upwards ten minutes at a time, these guys produce hook-filled riff after riff. And you don’t have to be a stoner to appreciate where they’re going. They’re got massive talent, and they let you know it. So sit back and enjoy the psychedelic journey with Elder, and smoke ’em if ya got ’em.
